Dear Friends,
Greetings from AIFUCTO!
We have reached that part of the year when we are eagerly waiting for a meeting
to discuss our pending issues and seek a solution to those. I feel delighted to
welcome you all to Shirdi between December 18 and 20 for the XXIX Statutory
Conference of AIFUCTO. Shirdi the abode of Saint Sri Sai baba in Maharashtra is all
set to welcome delegates. It is now time to get set for the arrange and assemble
at the venue in right health and spirit.
Friends, as we gear up for our Shirdi meeting we are really disturbed about the
studied insolence of the central government: neither the office of the Prime
Minister nor MHRD made any attempt of communication to us on the
representation we sent to them. It is now clear that government is in complete
mode of denial so far demands and expectations of the teachers of the country
are concerned. Education is not in their agenda of things and hence such defiant
behaviour. But the teachers of the country are not let down and they continue
with their struggle.
DHARNA & PROTEST ON 30th NOVEMBER:s
On November 30, 2017 teachers observed “Save Education Day” throughout the
country. It was a spontaneous protest from the teachers to save public funded
higher education of the country from imminent collapse. It is this unity and spirit
of the teachers that will ultimately compel the government to concede to ourrightful demands and make education a priority in their scheme of things. In our
earlier Circular we discussed in detail about anomalies in the Notification of the
7PRC and the manner in which the government has withheld the public action of the actual Report. We will have longer discussions on the same at Shirdi and I look
forward to hearing from you about what our future course of action will be.
STATE LEVEL PROTEST ON 12th DECEMBER:
Teachers Organizations are gearing up for next round of protest at State level on
12th December 2017 as decided in last NEC. AIFUCTO hopes this state level
program a grand success across the country.
FISE DELEGATION TO UNESCO:
The FISE delegation to 38th UNESCO conference comprised of the team
led by Prof. Asok Barman, Prof. Arun Kumar Singh, Prof. Gona Reddy and
Mrs.Jharna Barman. Details of the UNESCO Conference Report is being
published in Teachers’ Movement of current issue.
FEDCUTA EXECUTIVE ON 25th NOVEMBER’2017:
GS AIFUCTO Prof. Arun Kumar was invited to address FEDCUTA
Executive meeting held on 25th November’2017 in Jamia Millia Islamiya
campus in Delhi.Prof. Kumar called upon the teachers’ of the central
universities to develop co-ordination also at state level with AIFUCTO affiliates for broader platform for united struggle in coming future.
I am eagerly waiting to meet all of you at Shirdi where it will our resolve to
launch a joint struggle of teachers, students and all sections of the society
against the anti people, anti democratic stance of the central government.
